This painting was done after i dropped my little girl to her day care. Her new DC is a facility as to the home day care she went to a few months back.
She was so excited to go to "school"! It's her daycare but she calls it school. I was excited for her but giddy and somehow numb of feeling. It's like a reminder that I have to send my child out into the world, alone. At least when she is with me I know what her day is like, I can talk to her, we can share things. I know she needs this to improve her social skills. For me, the first day is a gentle reminder that my daughter is inching her way towards independence. It's also a reminder, that I need to get a grip.
And this isn't even her real real big school yet! Oh Lordy!
My mind was wandering while creating this painting. I just kept painting, stroke by stroke, i was in a daze...this was how i felt one her 'FIRST DAY".
I am a self-taught artist living in Southern California. I was born in Manila, Philippines. I graduated with Degree in Bachelor of Fine Arts, majoring in Interior Design at University of Santo Tomas.
